The Lindquist Group's offering of staffing specialties is unrivaled in the industry. Below is a description of the positions we serve, along with the general qualifications. Salaries depend on the job requirements and level of experience. Please speak to a Recruiter for more information.

Personal / Executive Assistant

A Personal Assistant is responsible for keeping up with the social and professional demands of an employer. Duties may include keeping track of the family calendar, making reservations for travel and dinner, event planning, answering phones, managing vendors, shopping and running errands. Executive Assistants do many of the same tasks but can work in an office environment and support a senior level executive.

Estate / Property / House Manager

Primarily a chief administrator, the Estate Manager assumes a leadership role for managing the staff and all services that take place both inside and outside the home for multiple properties. Estate Managers can spend some of their time doing office tasks such as managing household budgets/accounts, writing manuals and event planning. Other responsibilities include overseeing construction/renovation projects, managing vendors, working with interior designers, attending to the proper care of vehicles (cars, yachts, jets), maintaining a wine cellar. A Property Manager or House Manager typically does the same job but for just one residence.

Domestic Couple

A full charge household team. Typically a married couple, usually one person is responsible for the inside of the home: cleaning, cooking, shopping, menu planning, laundry, serving and overseeing the daily activities of the house. The other person is responsible for the outside grounds, gardening, light maintenance, repair and maintenance of machinery and automobile care. In more formal situations, Couples may only oversee the inside of the house. Housing is usually provided.

Chief of Staff

A Chief of Staff is the leader of the residence and the coordinator of the staff. In general, a Chief of Staff provides a buffer between the Principal and staff. The Chief of Staff works behind the scenes to solve problems, mediate disputes and deal with issues. They often act as an advisor to the Principal. Actual duties vary by the Principal's needs.

Chef / Cook

A Chef has typically attended a culinary school and can prepare a variety of gourmet foods from appetizers to desserts. There are many levels of Cooks from a very good family-style Cook to those who can prepare gourmet meals. Chefs / Cooks prepare detailed menus and food for the family and social events. A Chef / Cook may also prepare meals for the staff. The Chef / Cook is responsible for anything food or kitchen-related, including organization, clean up and grocery shopping.

Executive Housekeeper / Housekeeper

An Executive Housekeeper is in charge of running the housekeeping team and her responsibilities include hiring, training and supervising other Housekeepers. She may also be required to answer phones, mange vendors and assist the Housekeepers with their work. Full charge Housekeepers clean, do laundr,y iron, dust, polish silver vacuum and run errands. Some Housekeeper duties may also include meal preparation, cooking and/or childcare duties.

Laundress / Lady's Maid

A Laundress washes, irons and steams clothing, table linens and sheets, as well as organizes the closets and dressers. She may also be required to care for the polishing of shoes. Some homes require Lady's Maids,Chamber Maids, Kitchen Maids and/or Parlor Maids. More common in larger homes, these positions are usually responsible for cleaning and maintaining one particular area of the home. Lady's Maids may be required to do an employer's hair, help her dress and undress, pack for trips, and keep her clothes in order.

Nanny / Manny / Governess / Special Needs

Nannies are in charge of organizing and coordinating the children's activities, preparing their meals and keeping their rooms and play areas clean. He or she may have several years of college or a degree and ideally a CPR or First Aid Certificate. A Governess is a Nanny with formal education related to childcare or a candidate with a teaching degree who is capable of tutoring children. Special needs Nannies have experience working with children with a range of special needs including behavior, physical and medical.

Baby Nurse

Helps the new mother with all aspects of care for a baby, from feedings to washing clothes and keeping the nursery clean. She is not responsible for care for the mother or any household duties outside of the nursery. These tend to be temporary jobs, with Baby Nurses usually working 12 or 24-hour shifts for a duration of 2 weeks to 3 months.

Companion

A Companion is responsible for assisting his or her employer in various ways. A Companion’s duties may include driving, traveling with the employer and accompanying him or her to restaurants, events and appointments. Duties may also include some assistance with activities of daily living.

Chauffeur / Security

A Chauffeur will typically be responsible for driving family members and guests to social and professional appointments. He or she is also expected to care for the vehicles, making sure they are always clean and operating properly. A Chauffeur may also be required to run errands and assist the employer in his or her home or office. Many Chauffeurs protect clients when in public and help maintain their privacy. He or she is usually physically fit, trained in personal protection techniques and martial arts and may be required to carry a firearm. Chauffeur / Security hours oftenvary, so flexibility is important.

Butler

The Butler is customarily responsible for a single residence, supervising household staff, setting up the household and ensuring all duties are fulfilled. Typical duties include ordering household supplies, setting and serving a formal table, caring for the silver, china, and crystal and overseeing dinner parties and other events held in the home. A Butler should have good knowledge of wines and may be required to use a computer.

Houseman / Handyman

A Houseman is usually responsible for the heavy housework, such as cleaning the hardwood and marble floors, vacuuming and polishing silver and brass. He may be required to care for the front entry area of the house and the walkways. In a home where there is only a Houseman, he typically does what a Housekeeper would be required to do. A Handyman has full charge of both the outside and inside maintenance of the home. Typical duties include general repairs, painting, gardening, plumbing, carpentry, overseeing workmen and scheduling annual repairs.

Caretaker / Gardener

A Caretaker's responsibilities can overlap with that of a Houseman / Handyman. A Caretaker also oversees the care and repair of the automobiles and other equipment such as lawnmowers, snow blowers, etc. SomeGardeners have a degree in horticulture, and take care of formal gardens, lawns, shrubs, flowers and other gardens. The Gardener also supervises any outside vendors who come on the grounds and orders supplies and equipment for the estate. A top of the line Gardener would have knowledge of insecticides and chemical application. Many have greenhouse experience as well.
